Will Holmes Elected to Chairman, Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce

WHC Founder, Will Holmes Elected to Chairman of the Board

In a unanimous vote, Members of the Board of Directors of the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce elected Will Holmes as Chairman for the 2020-2021 term.

Outgoing Chairman, Richard Craft implemented strong processes and grew the Chamber to 375 members during his 2018-2019 term. Holmes plans to build upon that foundation, with goals of further increasing membership, expanding efforts of inclusion and building stronger relationships with regional chambers, government agencies, procurement offices and elected officials.

Will Holmes will team with the current Executive Director, William Honablew, Jr. to offer technical assistance, networking and growth opportunities for the business community. Holmes said, “I plan to work with Mr. Honablew to help members better understand how to build infrastructure and access capital in order to add jobs, build capacity and pursue larger contracts. Honablew is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Chamber. I will assist wherever needed. Ultimately, my role is to lead the Board of Directors, assist Committee Chairs, make connections with elected officials and strategic partners and create opportunities for the growth of the Chamber.”

When asked what message he wants to send to members of the business community considering joining the Chamber, Holmes said, “It doesn’t matter where you are from, who you love, or what you do. If you want better for our City, if you believe in strong business, if you believe in real inclusion, then you need to join the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce.”
