Purpose: This hearing will focus on how to strengthen access to capital for minority-owned small businesses in order to ensure that all communities have the opportunity to create jobs, close the wealth gap, and grow the economy.

There will be two panels. The first panel focuses on SBA’s lending programs and the trend of lending to under served markets, with SBA and SBA lenders as witnesses. The second panel includes an expert from Johns Hopkins University, an advocate for minority contracting, an expert on venture and equity investing and Entrepreneur Will Holmes.

Will Holmes will testify regarding the challenges minority and women owned businesses face when applying for capital. He will also discuss the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.

The event is open to the public.
