Welcome to the application for Innovation Hub: Entrepreneurship Training for Park Heights Visionaries. After reviewing the overview of the program, please complete the form below in order to be considered for an interview. We will choose participants based on their application, their answers during the interview, their desire to grow their business, and their plan to add jobs in Park Heights in Baltimore, Maryland. The program is free to participants thanks to funding from the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development.
OVERVIEW
The Innovation Hub: Entrepreneurship Training for Park Heights Visionaries is designed for Park Heights Residents and those who do business or plan to do business in Park Heights in Baltimore, Maryland. The objective is to teach, strengthen, and prepare entrepreneurs for success so they can have a positive economic impact within the Park Heights community. Graduates are expected to grow their business in Park Heights and hire Park Heights residents.
The program is tentatively planned to start in January 2025 and end in early April 2025. The program will consist of 4 parts:
Part One: ClassÂ
Entrepreneurs will participate in a six-week online entrepreneurship training program called 30 Steps for Startups (TM). The curriculum is developed and facilitated by WHC, a leading Baltimore consulting firm. The class will be presented via Zoom in the evening from 6pm to 9pm. Participants will need access to the internet, the Zoom app on a computer or smart phone, and the ability to use PowerPoint, Excel, Word or similar software to complete the homework and create the deliverables. Be advised, the course is challenging, and participants will be pushed to achieve and meet requirements.

Part Two: Deliverables for SuccessÂ
With the help of WHC facilitators, participants will create the Deliverables for Success:
- Business plan
- Business Website
- Social Media Presence
- Business formation documents
- A Capabilities Statement
- DUNS Number
- High Resolution Logo
- PowerPoint Presentation and Pitch Deck
Part Three: Pitch CompetitionÂ
Participants will present a PowerPoint presentation in a Pitch Competition for the chance to win $5,000.
Part Four: Graduation
Participants meeting ALL requirements will receive $500 from the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development and a certificate of completion.
REQUIREMENTS TO GRADUATE
- Must be a Park Heights Resident or have or plan to have a Park Heights business
- Attend all classes on time for the full duration
- Submit all homework assignments on time
- Complete cash flow projections on time
- Complete and submit all deliverables on time
- Meet with facilitators as required
- Participate in the final Pitch Competition
