Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot recognized the Baltimore City Chamber for our work during the pandemic!
Here are 10 things you should know:

First, if you haven’t already, please file your business personal property taxes. The state and federal tax deadline was extended to May 15th, but your business personal property tax filing was due April 15th unless you filed an extension. Please address this so your business can stay in good standing with the state of Maryland. Click here for more information.

Second, we are having an outdoor, in-person, covid-complaint Chamber Annual Meeting on Friday, May 21st. We should finalize the venue this week and tickets will go on sale next week. You should expect delicious food, drinks, networking and possibly, free parking. I am working on the free parking. Since we are having our Annual Meeting on 5/21, we will NOT have our normal 1st Thursday Monthly Meeting or 2nd Thursday Networking Event in May. Registration and sponsorship links will be available in the next weekly message.

Third, did you earn over $75k in 2020? You are invited to apply for the next free Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses entrepreneur growth program at http://www.10ksbapply.com/baltimore. To learn how this program has helped thousands of businesses increase revenue, add jobs and impact local economies join me for the next Open House on April 29th. The application deadline is approaching and there won’t be another cohort until 2022.

Fourth, we’d like to thank the Office of the Comptroller for recognizing our efforts to support businesses during the pandemic. We met with over 1000 businesses in 2020, hosted free training sessions, connected people to resources and helped hundreds of entrepreneurs apply for EIDL and PPP. It was a lot of work, but this is what the Baltimore City Chamber is meant to do. Thank you Comptroller Franchot for the recognition!

Fifth, here are some updates for Business Owners on relief programs:

Sixth, on May 25th, join Chamber Member EEA Meditation and Consulting for this highly anticipated training/ workshop as they identify mental health signs, symptoms, and trauma that individuals struggle with daily.
