Second, as you may know, my 2-year term as Chairman is coming to an end in December 2021. We have accomplished a lot during the pandemic and I am working with the Board for Directors to ensure a smooth transition. My goal is to provide the next Chair with everything they need to start leading effectively on day one. Join me on October 7th for our next General Membership Meeting to hear all the details and learn how you can get involved. After my update, we’ll have a panel on Marketing from experts in the Chamber. Click here to register.

Third, we are searching for a new Executive Director for the Chamber. This is a full-time, paid position. We are looking for a charismatic leader who can manage a team, build relationships with the business community, conservatively utilize resources, be attentive to detail, communicate effectively and execute the direction set forth by the Board of Directors. If you are interested in learning more, contact Board Member Steve Braun for full details. Please share this with great candidates as we are moving quickly to fill this role.

Also, I am looking for Members to provide the following 3 services to the Chamber: 1. Digital Marketing and Website Maintenance; 2. Membership Retention and Outreach; 3. Sponsorship Management and Fundraising. These would be contracted, paid, 1099 roles that report to the Executive Director. If you have experience, references and want to help us grow in one of these areas, email me.

Fourth, the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) provided $641 million to the City of Baltimore through the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency and its negative economic impacts. Mayor Brandon M. Scott will use this one-time funding to make strategic investments in Baltimore’s future and equitably deliver resources and services to City residents. The application portal will open to nonprofits on October 1, 2021. In advance of the application portal opening, the Recovery Office is hosting a webinar on September 28, 2021. Learn about the application process and how ARPA funds can be used. If you have any questions or concerns, please email arp@baltimorecity.gov. |  Click here to register for the webinar.
